Project Description

The Glycomics Circle was initiated to support female scientists at the Institute for Glycomics. The primary goal of the Glycomics Circle is to empower women in research at the Institute and provide support to females in a bid for better gender equality in the medical research arena.

Project Personnel and Beneficiaries

This activity benefits female scientists at the institute for Glycomics.

Outcomes to Date

In 2021 Glycomics Circle supported:
3 x Student Scholarships (total of $15,000)
1 x Early Career support for 6 months (total of $46,000)

Project Significance

Members of the Glycomics Circle raise funds and awareness for female researchers and students, and to recognise their significant contributions to the Institute’s daily fight against diseases of global impact through translational science.

Funds raised by the Glycomics Circle are used to support female early career researchers through scholarships, travel opportunities to attend national and international science conferences and competitions, or to aid the purchase of new equipment and consumables.
