Australia Awards Short Course Aus4ASEAN Green Skills in TVET

Project Description

The Australia Awards Short Course Aus4ASEAN Skills Forecasting for the Fourth Industrial Revolution was delivered under the Australian Governments Digital Transformation and Future Skills initiative, as part of a package aimed at supporting Australia’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Association of South Asian Nations (ASEAN). The course was delivered to 78 participants over 3 cohorts, equiping them to better respond to the needs of their organisations and industry sectors in an environment of complex sustainability and green skills labour market challenges in the TVET sector.

Project Personnel and Beneficiaries

The Participants’ came from organisations and government agencies across Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam including the Philippine Green Building Council, Institute of Brunei Technical Education, Singapore National Employers Federation and many more universities, training institutions and government departments across the ASEAN countries.

Outcomes to Date

The program has allowed professionals and academics from universities, TVET training facilities and government agencies to create connections with each other and in Australia, coming together to provide improved education while tackling the complex sustainability and green skills labour market challenges.

Project Significance

program aligns with SDG goal 13, “Climate Action”. In particular, target 13.3 “Build knowledge and capacity to meet climate change” by equipping participants from the ASEAN region to better respond to the needs of their organisations/industry sectors, in an environment of complex sustainability and green skills labour market challenges in the TVET sector.
