Please note that this is an on-going project.

Project Description

The Technical Services team at the Griffith School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoNM) alongside Les from the School of Anatomy and Jarrod from the Allied Health Services has been working as a team for Green Impact, and has proactively advanced the sustainability of the University in 2022 by saving a remarkable 1.28 tonnes from landfill for their school on Nathan campus.

The SoNM has been leading a comprehensive recycling program focusing on waste avoidance and includes cleaning and reusing syringes, lines, fluid bags and soft plastic used by over 900 students per week utilising the training facilities.

The team has also created a sustainable vertical garden at the entrance of Level 1 Health Sciences Building (N48), as well as created a shared relaxation space made from upcycled furniture and has included a stunning photography exhibit of wildlife in Toohey Forest.
