Project Personnel and Beneficiaries

Emerging water leaders across all aspects of the water industry in Australia

Outcomes to Date

Over 101 participants completed this course over 4 cohorts in 2022.

The pre and post course surveys showed that there was a clear increase in self-assessed knowledge across all topic areas. Written feedback revealed strong praise for the design and coordination of the training and a high level of anticipated use of resources and knowledge as the participants emerged from their training. There was universal agreement that the course had met or exceed expectations. ADB is also actively encouraging participants to contact their technology specialists and finance teams to explore ways to incorporate digital technologies within their organisations and projects. The WhatsApp group of participants and presenters will also be maintained and discussions and sharing of information will be encouraged through this group.

Project Significance

Effective water leadership is a key component to successfully achieve SDG 6 Water and Sanitation: The course is aimed at emerging leaders in the water industry; SDG 11 Sustainable cities and communities: many participants are directly involved in delivering safe and sustainable water supply to communities and the course promotes an inclusive and sustainable approach to delivering these services; SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: The course promotes ethical and inclusive leadership that can lead to strengthened institutions.
