Project Description

This project will will reduce both scope 2 and 3 emissions related to electricity use by installing 4MW of solar across many rooftops at Griffith University.

Project Personnel and Beneficiaries

The project is being run by Griffith Universities Campus Life.
Joanna Allen, Head of Engineering Services, initiated and drives the project with Matthew Burgess (Project Manager) and William Pettit (Renewable Engineer) delivering.

Outcomes to Date

The key outcome of this project is to develop and implement rooftop solar systems by 2025 to assist in meeting our carbon reduction targets.

Project Significance

Griffith University, through its Strategic Plan 2020-2025, has committed to developing and implementing an action plan to align with the recommendations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) by halving carbon emissions by 2030 and further reducing emissions to zero by 2050.
