Civic Assist Street Crew Evaluation

Project Description

Civic Assist’s Youth Street Crew (YSC) After Hours Program aims to support at-risk youth in Toowoomba CBD and fringe CBD. The aim of this project was to analyse the efficacy and need for this program, to assist Toowoomba’s youth experiencing homelessness, violence, anxiety, abuse and more.

Toowoomba City Council, Civic Assist – Youth Street Crew After Hours program; Local First Nations people; Toowoomba’s Youth.

Outcomes to Date

During the past three years the proportion of hours spent on coordination has decreased from 52% to 46% and the proportion of volunteer hours has grown from 9% to 17%.

Project Significance

Data analysis has identified that Civic Assist’s Youth Street Crew (YSC) After Hours Program assisted in the delivery of referrals and direct support by supplying essential frontline humanitarian help. Needs of physical health, personal safety and mental health were being addressed by Street Crew staff and volunteers.
