Project Description

The Australian Repair Summit is an annual national Summit that brings together a wide range of stakeholders interested in or working in the repair sector, who genuinely want to engage in open and respectful dialogue; with industry, other sectors and the community at large about the legislative and policy changes that are being developed to respond to the international right to repair movement.

Project Personnel and Beneficiaries

We have a Steering team of the Australian Repair Network who help Prof Leanne Wiseman with the organisation of the Australian Repair Summit.
The Steering committee include representatives from CHOICE Australia, eWaste Watch, the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) as well as the grassroots community repair community.

Outcomes to Date

The Australian Repair Summit has be hosted for the past three years at the National Library in Canberra and it will continue to be an annual events. Hosting this Repair Summit provides an opportunity for Australian Regulators to learn from international developments in the international Right to Repair movement in the US, EU and Canada.

Project Significance

The Australian Repair Summit is the only national event that addresses the importance of repair to Australia’s commitment to achieving the UNSDGs. Repair and Reuse is an integral part of the circular economy. To move away from our linear economy of take make and waste –
