Griffith University supports the Sustainable Development Goals

Griffith Corporate Baseline Climate Risk Assessment

Cheryl Briars

Project Description

Griffith’s Office of the General Counsel have engaged CRI to facilitate and provide support for a University climate risk baseline assessment, to help inform their annual risk report.

CRI has applied learnings from the QCR Program and has adjusted content, tools, and materials for a University content. The Climate Compass methodology has been adopted for a first pass (baseline) assessment, similarly to how it was adopted under the QCR Program. CRI has also worked closely with disaster risk management (DRM) experts at Griffith University to align the two disciplines of DRM and climate risk management together.

This project provides the foundations for an action plan and assess how climate risk can be incorporated in existing risk management processes, including how to prioritise less certain risks that climate change creates, and inclusion of multiple scenarios and timelines.
