Global Prioritization of Mangrove Conservation and Restoration incorporating future Climate Change Impacts

Fernanda Adame Vivanco

Project Description

The project was commissioned by WWF to help prioritise funds and activities for improving mangrove management and restoration globally.

Project Personnel and Beneficiaries

WWF is a key partner in this project.

Outcomes to Date

We have had many high impact publications and online tools that have helped WWF to determine actions for improving mangrove conservation. We have worked with managers in Mexico, Belice and Madagascar advising them on how best to restore and protect mangroves.

Project Significance

There are a lot of funds for mangroves at the moment, but there needs to be more prioritisation of activities and support with governance at the national and global scale.
