Project Description
The First Peoples Health Unit held a competition for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community members and Griffith Students. The theme of the competition was ‘Health and Healing’. The awards evening held at HOTA, Home of the Arts in the Gold Coast was a fantastic celebration of First Peoples culture and created a meaningful opportunity to connect with Community, Griffith Students and staff members. We look forward to hosting the art competition annually.

Outcomes to Date
Many positive outcomes were achieved in hosting this event and competition for the Students and Community. It gave artists the opportunity to showcase their artwork, skills and created further potential opportunities for commissioned work.
Project Significance
Art is incredibly detrimental to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples spirituality, mental health and healing journey.
