Project Description
The purpose of this project is to establish a baseline and perform ongoing automated fish monitoring across estuaries of the Gold Coast. The monitoring results will inform the City of Gold Coast local council and community on the health of estuaries in the Gold Coast.
Project Personnel and Beneficiaries
University of Sunshine Coast and City of Gold Coast: This project benefits the entire community of the Gold Coast since the project answers one of the key questions when assessing the health of their waterways.

Project Significance
For the first time, fish abudance and communities are being included in the yearly ecosystem assessments performed by City of Gold Coast. The automated monitoring allows for more efficient data that can inform managers about the health of their ecosystems. Therefore, this project is aligned with SDG14 and SDG11.
